MHFA is a nationally and internationally certified 8-hour training on depression, anxiety, psychosis, substance use disorders, and eating disorders.
Participants will learn effective intervention skills to individuals experiencing a mental crisis of suicide or non-suicidal self-injurious behaviors.
I completed the MHFA instructor training in 2012. I have previously provided this training for Kaiser Permanente Hospital, community colleges, law enforcement, etc.
Training includes lectures, videos, role-plays, and interactive group activities.
Participants who complete the entire 8-hour training will receive a national certificate as a mental health first aider that will be valid for 3 years.
